Wes Bolsen | President & CEO
Wes is an entrepreneur and executive that brings almost 20 years of business experience to the company. He was a former executive at Cool Planet, developing solutions for the renewable energy as well as Ag technology and animal nutrition markets. Prior to that, he served on the executive team of public company Codexis (NASDAQ: CDXS) in Redwood City, CA as their CMO. He was one of the founding executives at Coskata in Chicago, and served as the CFO of ICM, Inc. in Colwich, KS. He has worked extensively both in the U.S. and internationally during his years at McKinsey & Co. in both the Chicago and Palo Alto offices. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a minor in economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and a MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Paul Franzia - Chief Operations Officer
Paul is the sole proprietor of Paul Franzia Enterprises, which focuses on improving facility design and operations for a broad range of industries. Prior to founding his consulting firm, he served as Director of Engineering & Environmental Affairs at Bronco Wine Company, California’s largest wine grape grower and the 4th largest winery. He was active in addressing environmental regulatory issues effecting California’s wineries, and implementing new process technologies and methods for wine production. Over the 25 years of employment in the industry he gained experience in creating capital improvement budgets, managing large construction projects, integrating automation into existing operations and introducing new industrial technologies.
Jesse Acosta - Chief Business Officer
Jesse Acosta is an Adjunct Professor of Natural Resource Management at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Formerly he was the Fire Prevention Forester for the State of Hawaii. Jesse has broad-based life experience and educational background, entrepreneurship, National Fire Danger Rating System, fire weather maintenance, data analysis, fire prevention, forestry, watershed assessment/management, conveyance, statistical analysis, and stream restoration.
Eric Appel PhD - Chief Technical Advisor
Eric is a Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Stanford University and the Director of the Supramolecular (Bio)Materials Laboratory. He is a member faculty of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment. Dr Appel received a BS in Chemistry and MS in Polymer Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, a PhD in Chemistry from Cambridge University, and performed post-doctoral research with Prof. Bob Langer at MIT. He has extensive experience in the development of novel materials for biomedical and industrial applications and has 11 issued and pending patents.
